  • Karen Sutter President

    In 1987 Karen founded The Sutter Group to provide end-to-end design and production services—from creative concepts to finished deliverables—and everything in between. Over the last 24 years, Karen has overseen the company's transformation into a modern integrated marketing agency, and still works closely with well-known national brands like Land Rover North America, The National Association of Homebuilders, NASA and Clark Construction as well as local and community interests such as Prince George’s Conference and Visitors Bureau and NASA Federal Credit Union. With an enthusiastic hands-on style and consistent training, Karen has always ensured that TSG stays ahead of the most promising trends in the industry. Her commitment to recruiting only the highest caliber professionals in the various disciplines needed to run a full-service studio has resulted in an industry-leading interactive team, where a new crop of industry thought leaders provide the highest level of interactive design and development that is thoroughly integrated with all other traditional creative services.
     

  • John Cassella Creative Director

    John brought his award-winning skills to TSG in 1994. John’s work here includes overseeing creative concepts and output for brand and identity development, advertising design, annual reports, and interactive design for clients including the National Foundation for Cancer Research, the National Association of Home Builders, Clark Construction, Winvale and Land Rover/Jaguar. John oversees the entire creative team here at TSG, fitting each project’s components to the proper team member to achieve the most creative and efficient use of their unique skills. The end result is well-designed creative concepts for our clients, regardless of medium.

  • Garret Ohm Director of Marketing

    Garret Ohm functions as the Marketing Director for TSG, directing the marketing and many project management initiatives of the firm and its clients as well as working to establish new, mutually-beneficial relationships between the firm and prospective clients. Over his 9 years in marketing, he has worked with clients including Atlantic Golf/The Brick Companies, Peace Corps, Maryland Film Festival, Rams Head Taverns, National Foundation for Cancer Research, The Maryland Association of Realtors, W.R. Grace and Rt. 11 Potato Chips. He currently serves on the board of directors for the American Advertising Association of Baltimore, is a committee member of the Chesapeake Regional Technology Council and is active in the American Marketing Association, Tech Council of Maryland, and Maryland Chamber of Commerce. Garret graduated from Towson University with a B.S. in Mass Communication and a focus in Advertising.

  • Buzz Napper Senior Front-End Designer/Developer

    Buzz came to work at The Sutter Group in 1998 under the direction of John Cassella. Buzz has brought his strong Photoshop, typography and design skills to a professional setting. Buzz’s work here includes ­logo design, advertising design, annual reports, and web-design for clients ­including Georgetown University, Maryland Governor’s Workforce Investment Board, Central Penn Health & Fitness, and the Association for the Advancement for Automotive Medicine. Buzz currently resides in Leesburg, Virginia with his wife Angela and pets Bailey, Petey, and Callie. He attended East Carolina University, earning a Bachelor of Arts in Communication Arts.

  • John Sutter Director of Operations

    John Sutter oversees and manages all aspects of managing our shop including, among other things, maintaining and administering all IT functions, guiding technology development for our clients, accounting, project management. He also manages projects internally, and will typically be well-informed about each and every project that is in play, which means that if you call John, he will either be able to answer your question, or quickly find someone that can. 

  • Rebecca Rice Front-End Designer/Developer

    Rebecca is a new designer for The Sutter Group with a BFA in Graphic Design from Virginia Commonwealth University. With a strong background in illustration and design, she specializes in web and video graphics that complete any identity or marketing project. She is experienced with many different aspects of art and design including branding, clothing design, website development, print design and even cinematography. Her dreams of becoming an artist were formed the day she could hold a crayon, and she has been perfecting her skills ever since.
     

  • Brian Ellis Account Executive

    Brian was raised as a true Maryland boy, hiking, tinkering with cars, and occasionally on the rugby pitch. He eventually headed north to study at the University of Connecticut, where became heavily involved in marketing. With a passion for both great marketing strategy and client service, Brian enjoys helping our clients tell the story of what makes them unique and compelling to their target audiences. In his free time, he enjoys watching his Huskies play just as much as he enjoys talking marketing—and he assures us he’d be happy to do either with you over your beverage of choice!

  • Adapter Man Team Mascot

    Adapter Man is pleased to finally join the TSG team. Along with his unbeatable personality and people skills, Adapter Man will serve as a liaison between potential and existing clients and TSG. His main role is to explain what TSG is all about, including promotional work and ensuring that the TSG brand is always represented well. He is the "marketer of our marketing" and we are sure he will play a vital role as part of the team. His knowledge of the true meaning and execution of adaptive marketing simply can’t be rivaled. Adapter Man currently resides on the credenza at TSG's headquarters.
