Brand Storytelling by Google

Google does brand storytelling better than just about any company or organization in the world. Their latest video, “Google Search: Reunion”, is a great example of how effective brand storytelling can be when a brand is willing to cut the sales pitch and allow a story to truly take hold. The three and a half minute clip follows the reunion of two friends who were separated in 1947 by the India-Pakistan partition. Using Google search, the daughter of the man living in India is able to track down her father’s childhood friend in Pakistan. A quick Google search for visa requirements and flight information later and the two are reunited in Delhi after six decades of separation. There’s no sales pitch, no call to action, and minimal branding. Yet the message is clear: with Google, anything is possible. The video is so well done, you almost forget how useless all your Google searches actually are.
