Brand Publication & Print Design
The Brief
25 years of Land Rover in North America. Six model lines. Hundreds of campaigns.
One comprehensive reference built to last as long as the vehicles inside it.
Having worked with Land Rover North America for over a decade, we knew the brand intimately. When the opportunity came to create a comprehensive reference guide commemorating their 25th anniversary in North America, we were not starting from zero. We understood the vehicles, the history, and the people who had built the brand in this market since 1985. We briefed with the Land Rover team to define the scope of the guide. They wanted a brand manifesto, an overview of Land Rover's North American history, and dedicated chapters for each model line sold in the U.S. and Canada: Range Rover, Range Rover Sport, Range Rover Evoque, Discovery/LR3/LR4, Freelander/LR2, and Defender. Within each chapter, a year-by-year breakdown covered model specifications, available options, key features, Spotter's Guides, advertising campaigns, and collateral released each year. Working closely with a Land Rover historian who had been close to the brand throughout its full 25 years in North America, we developed and fact-checked content at every level. In parallel with content development, we built the graphic system that would define the visual character of the publication: a striking cover, a brand manifesto section, and chapter separators giving each model line its own visual identity within the larger work. We photographed existing materials we had created for Land Rover over the years and curated photography from the Land Rover historical archive, building a visual record as thorough as the written one. The final product was a 315-page hardcover book giving employees and retail staff a definitive look at the company's North American story. A softcover edition was produced for cost-effective distribution throughout the organization.
